- Her parents hailed from Lahore, Pakistan.
- Her father was a prominent RSS(Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) member.
- She took her degree in Sanskrit and Political Science.
- She won the State level Best Hindi Speaker award for three consecutive years from her college.
- She actively participated in JAYAPRAKASH NARAYAN's Total Revolution Movement, which helped her join Bharatiya Janata Party of India.
